Independent, cost-effective education in tissue viability

The Wounds UK E-Academy offers healthcare professionals a range of online education courses in the field of wound management. These include:

• 15-minute professional updates with multiple choice questions and completion certificate
• Self-directed modules lasting 10 hours
• Postgraduate certificates and diplomas (under development)

All of these educational offerings can be accessed by the student from any computer with internet access and at a time and speed that suits the individual student. Our intention is to produce new educational activities for this area to give clinicians the opportunity to develop their skills and keep updated. Professional updates

Students can choose from a list of topics to select their preferred module. Once registered, they will be asked to read a paper, chapter or watch a video presentation and undertake interactive activities before answering a series of multiple choice questions. The student will receive a completion certificate and direction to further areas of study as appropriate.

Self-directed short courses

These short courses are aimed at providing the student with a knowledge base from which to practice and develop further study. Each course will take approximately 10 hours and will involve self assessment.

Postgraduate modules

The Wounds UK E-Academy postgraduate modules are aimed at delivering education at reduced costs, allowing students to study without any travel or accommodation costs. Once students are registered, they will be able to set the pace of their study to suit their individual needs. All modules will be accredited with opportunities to gain a postgraduate certificate in tissue viability.
