Complex wounds, Diabetic foot ulcers

Apply for £20K grant from Foundation URGOCall for projects 2014 seeks innovative initiatives and practices for the prevention and management of diabetic foot ulcers.

Foundation URGO, which supports innovative and original projects in DFU care in six countries, is seeking applications for its 2014 grant. Projects can be submitted from the United Kingdom, Spain, Germany, China, Vietnam and Thailand. In each country, a jury of DFU experts will award a grant of £20,000.

 

Projects may be submitted by any healthcare professional working in the field. Proposed projects may be focused on the prevention or the management of DFUs, including:

• infection management

• post-amputation therapy

• wound debridement

• first-line dressing choice (eg recommendations, protocols, use)

• caregiver training

• management of the patient, the wound and comorbidities

• improvement of patient compliance

• epidemiological data and healthcare networks.
