International Lymphoedema Framework Awards 2009

The following awards are to be presented at the International Lymphoedema Framework Conference at Ascot in April 2009

Along with the Major Contribution Awards, there will be three awards given to the individual or team whose submission is considered to have achieved the necessary standard by an international panel of judges:

ILF Research in Lymphoedema Award
This award recognises original research in the field of lymphoedema that has led to a significant change in our understanding of this condition and its future management.

ILF Practice in Lymphoedema Award
This award recognises a model of care that has significantly improved outcomes of care and the lives of patients.

ILF Education in Lymphoedema Award
This award identifies the implementation of a creative and innovative educational programme for healthcare professionals, patients or both that has contributed to improved outcomes of care for people with lymphoedema.


Submissions
Submissions should be no more than 500 words and succinctly describe the research, practice or educational innovation which is the focus of the application. The author(s) should set out clearly what it is about their work that is special and how it has made a significant difference to the management of patients with lymphoedema. The closing date for applications is 5 March, 2009.

Judging
Submissions will be sent to an international judging panel made up of members of the International Advisory Board. Each submission will be blind assessed and each judge will score from 1–10 (10 being excellent). The submission with the highest score will win the award. In the case of a draw, the submissions concerned will be reassessed by a moderating panel and a winner agreed.
