Awards

For the first time ever, Wounds UK launched its annual awards ceremony at the Wounds UK 2012 conference last November in Harrogate. The theme of the conference was “Sharing Best Practice” and the awards ceremony formed an integral part of the event programme, providing an opportunity for clinicians to highlight their work at the UK’s biggest wound care event.

The awards comprised six categories and we received over 300 abstract entries, which had to be whittled down to three per category; an overall winner and two commendees. Hosted by Professor Keith Harding, Jacqui Fletcher, and James Fletcher, ex-Royal Marine and Woundcare4Heroes patron, the ceremony took place in the main auditorium at Harrogate International Centre where the winners were given the opportunity to provide a short presentation of their work.

Every year, we celebrate the innovation and breadth of practice shown in tissue viability today and the awards represent a fantastic opportunity to promote the excellent and interesting practice that is undertaken by those involved in wound healing.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the clinicians who submitted their work, as well as the sponsors of the awards.

We look forward to seeing you again in 2013!
